I was watching gangs of London the other day and a friend of mine asked me
“is London really like this?”
I responded, “not really but yeah..”
You see I really did love living in London for a long time.
The hustle of the city makes you feel like you aren’t the only person striving/trying to become what you dream.
I would always go on inspiration walks around Knightsbridge and Belgravia, looking at some of the worlds most expensive properties/cars.
On these walks I saw things that very few people get to see and so I started taking photos and posting them on instagram.
If you are a tourist visiting for a week you will love exploring the mews streets/ main tourist attractions but if you live here…..
After a few years… the city will slowly reveal itself.
It took 5 years living in London for my feelings to shift from inspiration to disgust.
When I moved to London I had zero money but an insane vision.
The plan was I am going to earn as much money as possible and not waste a single £1.
Save then reinvest. Save then reinvest. Save then reinvest……
I knew that one day when I am self sufficient I will be able to disappear.
In 2021 I got my Swiss residency and that really was the final piece of the puzzle.
For those of you who don’t know a Swiss passport is a Fk you to the world.
Not only does it allow you to pay less tax but it also allows you to retire in any country within the EU or the European Economic Area (EEA) without needing a visa. The same applies to the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan, for which a Swiss passport is sufficient.
I grew up in a very small town and I am sure a lot of you have heard the phrase “small town mindset”
It is the poison that destroys most dreamers/entrepreneurs as the spark you have is barely alight in perfect conditions let alone with others trying to put it out…..
London breaks your concept of reality/limits.
When I first moved to London I thought £100k salary was insane and then I got into finance…..
A colleague of mine got in the news for his bonus…..
His base salary was £4.3 million per year and his bonus was £11.5 million……
I started mixing with not the rich but the mega fking rich.
I would always see this Ferrari F12 TDF(£900k) parked on the street and in 2022 I posted this photo on my instagram story.
Social media rewires your brain as nothing surprises you after you get 100k followers.
The world is a very small place but when your page grows it becomes even smaller.
A few hours after posting the story I got a direct message from a woman saying “you know that’s Hugh Grants Ferrari right?”
We started talking and after a few days I realised that she may be the most connected person I have ever met…
I googled her name and it turned out she was part of the royal family…
