Ferruccio Lamborghini was an Italian entrepreneur and tractor manufacturer.

By the 1960s, Mr Lamborghini had become very wealthy and owned several high end cars, including Ferraris.

Mr Lamborghini was unhappy with the performance of his Ferrari, particularly the clutch which he believed could be improved.

Mr Lamborghini approached Enzo Ferrari (the founder of Ferrari) with suggestions on how to improve his cars.

Ferrari dismissed Lamborghini, saying something to the effect of, "Stick to making tractors and leave the sports cars to me."

This comment fuelled Mr Lamborghini’s determination to create his own high performance sports car.

In 1963, he founded Automobili Lamborghini and the first car, the Lamborghini 350 GT, was introduced.

Lamborghini’s goal was to build a car that was superior to Ferrari's in terms of performance and comfort.

In the late 1980s, an Italian engineer called Horacio Pagani was employed at Lamborghini, where he worked on some of their famous models, such as the Countach and the Diablo.

Pagani had an innovative mind and believed in the future of carbon fiber as a lightweight material for cars.

He wanted Lamborghini to invest in better technology for manufacturing carbon fiber components, but his requests were denied….

Frustrated by the limitations within Lamborghini, much like how Lamborghini felt about Ferrari…… Pagani left the company in the early 1990s to start his own venture.

He founded Pagani Automobili and in 1999, unveiled the Pagani Zonda, a supercar that incorporated advanced materials like carbon fiber and pushed the boundaries of performance and design.
